Hi friend,
I’ve been thinking a lot about how ADHDers tend to speak to themselves… and it’s not very pretty. I’m guilty of it too. No one in my life is as mean to me as I am. I want better than that. I NEED better than that - and so do you. Self-compassion is a skill. I want to share a few affirmations for you - ways to reverse the inner dialogue.. but first, a poll.
Recent research shows that a positive mental state is linked to higher levels of health, including lower blood pressure and reduced risk for heart disease, better blood sugar levels, and longer life.
Here are some ways to shift the dialogue. Jot down your favorites and repeat as necessary. Save them somewhere useful or create a few of your own:
My differences make me valuable
I am capable of so many things
My memory is strong
Being playful is a necessity in my life
I choose to focus on peace today
It’s okay to ask for help
It’s okay to have hard days
I take things one step at a time
I will not push myself into burnout
I will rest when my body asks for rest
Affirmations like these have played an important role in how I manage my ADHD (In addition to therapy, exercise, coaching, etc)…which is why I’m so excited to announce that pre-orders are now available for my 52-Card ADHD Empowerment Deck!
You're in for a special treat with this one! This week, I'm sitting down with the incredible Morgan Harper Nichols - as we chat about her Autism/ADHD diagnosis, advocating for others, and the stigma around diagnosis. You don't want to miss this conversation!
ALSO - the priority waitlist for the ADHD Women’s Retreats in Jamaica an Punta Cana is STILL OPEN. If you have interest in attending either retreat, learn more here.
As always, your support means the world to me. Thanks for stopping by today 🌞
I love these affirmations. They're realistic and needed. I am generally kind to myself but I'm dealing with a boss right now who is super ableist and I'm having a hard time being nice to myself because of it.
Oh these look amazing, is there an option to ship to Australia?
